Hi!

My name is Grace Sarmiento, although in my artistic practice I’m known as Gre. I’m based in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

I started my professional career as a graphic designer in advertising agencies, but over time new opportunities opened up that allowed me to develop another very important facet for me: illustration, a dream that has gradually become a reality.

I published a book with the Spanish publishing house Babibidibu, and starting in 2024, I began publishing my own stories as an author in fanzine format, exploring more personal and free-form narratives.

I currently work as a freelancer. Of all the different roles I’ve taken on throughout my life, the one I hold today is the most important: being a mom. Thanks to a small support network that helps me raise my daughter, I’m able to continue creating, growing, and developing as an artist.

I consider myself a visual illustrator with a curious eye and a passion for telling stories through drawing. For me, illustration is a form of language: it stems from experimentation, color, and intention, and translates into works that seek to connect, move, and leave a lasting impression.

I enjoy working across both analog and digital mediums, exploring techniques, textures, and processes that are just as important as the final image. Every stroke, detail, and composition is part of an ongoing quest to convey my own ideas and those of the people who trust in my work.

On my website, I share my creative process, my visual discoveries, and the ways in which drawing intersects with identity, branding, and creativity.

I invite you to follow me on social media and get to know me a little better as a person. Welcome to my illustrated world✨.
